The European vehicle leasing market is projected to grow by USD 90.87 billion between 2022 and 2027 (Technavio). In this competitive landscape, DNB – Norway's largest bank – partnered with Baltic Amadeus to develop a leasing application solution.
DNB is the largest financial services group in Norway, offering a comprehensive range of services, including loans, savings, advisory services, insurance, and pension products for both private and corporate clients. In addition, DNB has been active in the Norwegian leasing market for several decades. The bank approached Baltic Amadeus with a request to develop a convenient car leasing application system for DNB’s leasing partners across Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
Given the complexity of leasing operations, DNB required a solution that would support efficient collaboration between its internal leasing departments and external car dealers. The goal was to ensure a smooth, fast, secure, and easily accessible leasing process for both individual and corporate customers.

The Baltic Amadeus team worked closely with DNB to design and implement a three-tier web solution based on Drupal technology. The leasing system was customised to meet the specific regulatory and business requirements of the Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian markets.
Drupal was used as a data form engine to manage and configure leasing application forms, while Phalcon – a high-performance PHP framework based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture – powered the front-end application.
To ensure secure and reliable communication among the architectural layers, web service applications were implemented, supporting high security standards throughout the system.
The newly developed leasing system, named DNB Car Dealers, enabled seamless information exchange between DNB and its car dealer partners. The platform supports the full leasing workflow, including submitting leasing offers, registering applications and documents, generating reports, and managing leasing-related data.
By fully automating leasing application submission, review, and processing, the system significantly reduced manual work and optimised operational costs.
Although the DNB Car Dealers system operates across all three Baltic countries, it was designed to accommodate local business logic. As a result, forms, workflows, and reports are adapted to each country’s specific operational and regulatory requirements.
