The mobile banking market is projected to grow from USD 0.941 billion (2022) to USD 1.3 billion by 2030 (MRFR). As customers demanded mobile-first financial services, DNB partnered with Baltic Amadeus to modernise its mobile banking experience for Baltic region users with a secure, user-friendly solution.
As mobile banking grew in popularity, DNB's Lithuanian and Latvian branches identified the need to upgrade their mobile app. The existing app offered only general information, lacked everyday banking functionality, and was difficult to use.
Drawing on global experience and Nordic consumer research, DNB partnered with Baltic Amadeus to deliver a customised mobile banking solution that would make financial services easily accessible from smartphones.

Baltic Amadeus crafted a hybrid mobile app that merges native mobile experiences with WebView features, ensuring swift development and adaptability. Key functionalities were built using native OS capabilities, while less critical features utilized the web layer. This strategic approach facilitated efficient long-term support.
Collaborating closely with DNB, the team pioneered the EasyLogin feature, enabling secure access with a four-digit PIN. Users can effortlessly check balances, view statements, transfer funds between accounts, and use transaction templates for frequent payments, minimizing data entry.
The app also supports essential banking tasks like euro transactions, payment tracking, and currency exchange. Security is paramount, with standard authentication methods such as code cards, PIN generators, and mobile e-signatures safeguarding all operations.
The upgraded mobile banking app enables customers to carry out daily banking operations easily and conveniently from their mobile devices. All essential banking features are available in one place, providing users with a clear and comprehensive overview of their finances.
The app also delivers a personalised user experience by displaying relevant content based on individual user behaviour. This includes push notifications, personalised in-app recommendations, and tailored offers. Additionally, the app provides practical features such as real-time exchange rates, nearby ATM and branch locations, and the ability to contact the bank via phone or email directly from the app.
Security was a key priority throughout development. Even if a phone is lost, funds remain protected through predefined payment functionality, which allows transactions only via pre-approved templates. Other local money transfers require confirmation using a password generator, mobile signature, or transaction authentication number (TAN).
