Back in 2021, the Lithuanian Central Credit Union (LCCU) began expanding into mobile banking and chose Baltic Amadeus as their long-term technology partner. Together, we built a mobile banking app that fully meets global NextGenPSD2 and Berlin Group standards. Now the partnership has grown further – LCCU needed to add savings and term deposit functionality to meet rising client expectations.
With 44 unions and more than 130,000 clients, LCCU is the first and largest credit union group in Lithuania. After launching the mobile banking app, LCCU expanded its digital service offering and saw growing engagement from clients who needed quick access to essential banking features.
When our partnership with LCCU first began, we connected their core system to a secure mobile banking app built to meet international standards, such as ISO 27001 and ISO 9001. This step opened the door to modern, user-friendly online services: from payments and balance checks to viewing recent transactions and accessing card details like PIN codes.
As usage grew, a new need appeared: giving their clients a place for savings and term deposits directly through the same mobile banking app. This functionality was especially important for LCCU because a large share of their users are farmers. Their daily work often keeps them away from computers, so having quick access to financial information on a phone is crucial.

The main goal behind this new functionality was to give clients – especially farmers who are constantly on the move – a quicker and easier way to manage their savings and term deposits.
To deliver this, the Baltic Amadeus team formed a cross-functional team including analysts, designers, mobile and backend developers, and QA specialists. Their task was to bring the existing web-banking deposit functionality into the mobile banking app without changing LCCU’s backend systems.
The work involved adapting our mobile banking app to fully replicate LCCU’s web deposit flows, creating a new module for placing, viewing, topping up and terminating deposits. Throughout the project, the Baltic Amadeus team ensured that the web banking deposit flows were transferred to mobile accurately and shared recommendations whenever decisions could affect functionality, security or long-term maintainability.
The project gave LCCU a fully implemented and reliable deposits module that works seamlessly with their existing backend. By recreating the web functionality in the mobile banking app without requiring system changes, LCCU received a complete, consistentand ready-to-use functionality addition to their solution without additional effort from their IT team.
The new deposits functionality also created clear value for end-users. LCCU’s customers can now manage savings and term deposits directly from their phones, anytime and anywhere. The mobile banking app also supports the organisation’s goal of attracting a younger generation of clients and increasing engagement across digital channels.
Through ongoing advisory from Baltic Amadeus, LCCU strengthened key decisions around functionality, security, UX and long-term maintainability. This ensured that the new module fits both user needs and the organisation’s technical direction.
