With 75% of insurance searches now conducted digitally, and growing, customer trust in and demand for digital solutions continue to rise.
Insurance providers are responding by enhancing self-service through mobile apps. We present a case study on the newly developed mobile app for Lietuvos Draudimas, the largest insurance company in the Baltics.
Lietuvos Draudimas is the largest insurance company in Lithuania and the Baltics, serving over half a million private and business clients and handling approximately EUR 70 million in annual claims. With more than 1,100 employees, the company is a recognised market leader and has been awarded Top Employer status in Lithuania multiple times. Lietuvos Draudimas is part of the PZU S.A. insurance group.
While already offering services through a self-service platform and website, Lietuvos Draudimas identified a growing need for a mobile version of the platform to align with evolving customer expectations and insurance market trends. The company aimed to enhance the customer journey by providing a convenient mobile experience that allows users to access core insurance services in just a few clicks.
To move forward, Lietuvos Draudimas sought a technology partner with strong expertise in mobile app development and robust IT security practices. Baltic Amadeus proposed a secure mobile application designed to protect sensitive customer data and meet the highest security standards.

Given the sensitive nature of insurance data, the mobile application required comprehensive protection against potential cyber threats. Baltic Amadeus implemented the highest level of security controls to ensure data confidentiality and application resilience.
A wide range of advanced security technologies and best practices were applied to safeguard customer information and strengthen the mobile app's overall security posture. These measures ensured compliance with modern security requirements while maintaining a smooth user experience.
From a technical perspective, Baltic Amadeus used Kotlin to develop the Android version of the app (Google Play, Android 8 and above) and Swift for the iOS version (App Store, iOS 14 and above). As a result, the application delivers consistent functionality and performance across both operating systems.
With the newly developed mobile application, Lietuvos Draudimas significantly improved its customer experience. Users can now easily request compensation, track the status of ongoing claims, and contact or chat directly with their claims handler within the app.
The app also provides access to an insurance e-card and clearly visible balances, strengthening customer trust and brand loyalty.
In addition, seamless re-authentication via Lithuanian banks (SEB, Swedbank, and Luminor), Smart-ID, and Mobile-ID simplifies access to services, allowing customers to manage all essential insurance information in one secure and convenient place.
